On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Imagine there is a small chance that I'm her? What then? Is that not crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the message continued.

The panel was informed that via electronic messages, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court learned the co-defendant established a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in that winter.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the period leading up to the visit to the village, the county, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two accused, in that autumn, planning endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to take action," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their home, the defendant transmitted a message which stated: "We're currently sat near the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with another person I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
